In September, our CEO Adam Maclean and VP of Sales Jacqui Burke embarked on an exciting and insightful visit to the United States. Their journey was aimed at strengthening connections with hospitals and birth centers committed to offering high-quality, patient-centered care with the integration of FP3 Birth Pools into their facilities. This visit took them to several esteemed locations in North Carolina, and Colorado, where they witnessed first hand the impact the FP3 has on labor and delivery units and birth centers.
Visit 1: Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Adam and Jacqui visited Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, where four FP3 tubs are in place. This esteemed institution, part of Atrium health, is known for its commitment to excellence in healthcare and progressive approaches to patient care.
With the FP3 tubs, Wake Forest is further elevating its offerings for expectant mothers who desire a water labor experience. During their visit, Adam and Jacqui met with senior staff members who introduced the hospital’s maternity care team, who shared insightful feedback on how water immersion options have enhanced patient satisfaction and relaxation in the delivery room. It was inspiring to witness how these tubs have been seamlessly integrated into Wake Forest’s labor and delivery unit, providing expectant mothers with additional labor options in a calm, supportive environment.
Visit 2: Cone Health, Greensboro, North Carolina
Next stop on their journey was Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina. Cone Health’s Labor & Delivery unit is designed with an emphasis on comfort, and the installation of four FP3 Birth Pools has been a significant addition to their facility. The team at Cone were engaging and committed and made Adam and Jacqui really welcome. The visit was hosted by colleagues who were instrumental in the purchase of the FP3 pools. They commented on how they have been supported through the entire process by Jacqui and they felt they made a great decision getting the Edel Immersys FP3 birth pools, not just because they were well supported but the staff love them and their patients have been delighted to have water births in the tubs. They commented that they can turn a room around very quickly and their numbers have increased.
Visit 3. Beginnings Birth Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado
The journey then led them westward to the beautiful setting of Beginnings Birth Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Known for its holistic approach to maternity care, Beginnings Birth Center features three beautiful rooms with FP3 Birth Tubs, creating a serene and comforting atmosphere. These rooms are thoughtfully designed to support a natural and peaceful birthing experience, aligning with the center’s vision of making water birth a supportive and natural, home from home experience. The rooms are so beautiful, they have been asked if they would AirBnB them!
During their visit, Adam and Jacqui had the opportunity to connect with the dedicated team at Beginnings and watch a morning of skills drills, where they did emergency evacuation procedures from the tub. It was clear to see the positive impact the FP3 Birth Tubs have had on both patients and midwives. They were inspired by the center’s focus on providing mothers with a space that fosters confidence, empowerment, and relaxation.
Reflections on the Journey
Adam and Jacqui’s USA visit reinforced our commitment to partnering with leading healthcare institutions and birth centers that share our vision of transforming the birthing experience. The feedback gathered from each location emphasized the unique benefits of the FP3 Birth Pools—from enhancing maternal comfort to supporting relaxation and control during labor.
This journey was a testament to the dedication of healthcare teams and birth centers in making a difference for mothers and their families. We are proud to support them in this mission and look forward to continued collaboration and innovation in the field of maternity care.
